We're Here to Help

Since the success of your project relies heavily on strong management, we are extremely selective and hire only the best project managers. Our project managers receive extensive and ongoing training on a weekly and monthly basis. The success of our business is built on the strength of our project managers and we are proud of the highly skilled team we have assembled at Sterling Construction and Design.
Each of our projects is as unique and diverse as our clients, which is exciting for us and important to our clients. However, if we have a project under construction, and we have the permission of the client we would love to show you a project in action! This is a great way to assess a contractor as you get to see things from the inside out.
Maybe. We have worked with many owner-supplied subcontractors. Regardless of where they come from, all subcontractors must be properly licensed, be responsible for their workmanship, and be willing to fit into our project schedule. If they meet all requirements, we are more than happy to accommodate.
This is a dangerous question. Every project is unique. Every design is unique. Site conditions are unique. We do not provide estimates by the square foot. It is very risky to compare home builders by a general square footage price.
We encourage all of our prospective clients to give us a full month to provide an accurate, reliable estimate for their project. Our estimates are broken down into categories, so you can see exactly how your budget is allocated throughout the build. We also require full blueprints in order to provide a detailed quote.
Depending on the size of the project, you may have a timeline that is anywhere from 3 to 8 months and even longer. Remember to allow yourself at least 2 additional months for the planning, design and creating the scope of the work to be completed. For most remodels the process typically takes 6 to 8 weeks.
Our recommendation is that you interview potential builders and find the one or two that you would consider working with. Share with them the area that you want to live, the school district that you want for your family, where you like to shop, etc. At that point you can begin working on the selection of available lots or land. That selection may determine the type of house you can build on the lot or the home you want may determine the location of the lot based on it’s topography. This is where you may want to get a realtor involved to aid in the process.
In most cases no. There are numerous issues and questions about your home that affect purchases. In many cases the type of home you are wanting to build is best suited to certain types of lots. By purchasing a product that is not best suited for your home, you are at risk of losing warranty rights. It is important to involve the contractor and interior designer for product selection to best protect your interest.
One of the most effective beginnings is to start with a discussion with bankers and mortgage brokers. You will provide them information they will need to assess your financial situation and thus determine the types of financing that you may qualify for. This will establish your project budget. It is important to shop for your financing to obtain the best fitted package. We offer contact with numerous different financing institutions to aid in this process.
